Back before either candidate announced a run for the presidency, Rick Santorum visited Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York. Trump reported to Santorum that he had read Santorum’s book Blue Collar Conservatives and that it was “the right message” for a campaign going forward. Donald Trump has gone on to champion many of the same positions outlined in Rick Santorum’s book, albeit with his own unique flair. Now, Trump is in the process of vetting Vice Presidential choices. Because of his blue collar message and his stance on immigration, along with his need to shore up the traditional conservative base, it seems obvious that Donald Trump would be considering Rick Santorum to be his running mate.

I can report that Senator Santorum said to me yesterday via email that he is “hearing good things” from the pastors who met with Trump in the context of his consideration of a vice presidential running mate.
Conservative activist Richard Viguerie recently laid out why Donald Trump should pick Rick Santorum as his running mate.
[Santorum] has the background and brains to help Donald Trump put meat on the policy bones he regularly tosses out.
Is Rick Santorum being vetted? We probably won’t know the answer to that until Donald Trump announces who he has chosen. In the meantime, I ask for prayer in this regard. Pray for a miracle. Pray that Donald Trump will be guided to pick the best person for the job. Personally, I believe the best person for the job is Rick Santorum.
