NY Archbishop Responds to NYTimes Columnist Dowd
Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York is a true champion of the Catholic Faith. I am personally most impressed by the great leadership he has shown in promoting vocations. (See NYPriest.com) He is charged with doing everything possible to promote the growth of a holy priesthood and he is doing a fine job of it despite constant attacks on the priesthood from the left. One of those who seems most intent on bringing down the priesthood is NYTimes columnist Maureen Dowd.
You may recall my recent response to Dowd’s latest attack on the Catholic priesthood. True to his calling, Archbishop Dolan issued a response, as well……boldly. Unfortunately, the NYTimes refused to print his response. (See a report at the NYPost.) Thankfully, you can still read it on Archbishop Dolan’s blog. It’s entitled — rightly so — Anti-Catholicism.
The Catholic faithful rejoice in strong bishops like Archbishop Dolan. He has our prayerful support.
